Observation of 11th International Yoga Day

11th International Yoga Day was observed on 21.06.2025 at Seva Bharathi Units. At Chetana Child Development Centre, V.T. Road, Mangalore, Yoga Guru M.S.Radhika of Art of living guided the children and staff to perform Yogasanas. Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre at Madhava Vana, Montepadavu in Naringana Village observed yoga day by performing yogasanas involving the children and Centre staff. Principal, staff and children of Roman and Catherine Lobo residential school for visually impaired, Kapikad, Mangalore observed Yoga Day performing yogasanas.

Chetana Child Development Centre V.T.Road, Mangaluru re-opened for the academic year 2025-26 on 2.6.2025 in a ceremonial way. A colourful procession of the children, parents, school staff was arranged from nearby Bishop’s House up to the school. The children were received by veteran Shri Umesh Shenoy, the Retired General Manager, Canara Bank and Headmistress Mrs. Supritha by releasing the ribbons/ballons at the school gate. Sweets were offered to the children after applying tilak to all the children. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat & Shri Vinod Shenoy the trustees of Seva Bharathi and were present during the occasion.

Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre, Madhava Vana Montepadavu re-opened on 5.6.2025 for the academic year 2025-26. The procession of the children & their parents with caretakers from the main gate till the centre was received by the volunteer Shri Chandrashekhar Shetty and the centre in charge Shri Vanishree welcomed by releasing the ribbons, applying tilak the children were offered with sweets. In view of the day being “World Environment Day” the same is celebrated by planting saplings through the children at nearby tree park. The medical team of Yenepoya Homeopathy Medical College were present during occastion.

‘Sakshama’ donated divyang-pro medical aids

Dakshnina Kannada District unit of Sakshama, a national level organization working for the welfare of divyang donated different helping aids such as patient-cot, air bed, walker, learning kit, item marking board etc. to Chetana Child Development Centre. The items were handed over on 11.04.2025 by Shri Rajashekhar Bhat Kakunje and Shri Harish Prabhu Secretary and office bearers of Sakshama and received by Shri H Nagaraj Bhat Hon. Secretary, Seva Bharathi & Smt. Supreetha, HM of the School. Briefing on the activities of Sakshama in a meeting, the efforts of the Sakshama team put forth in the service of divyang service was very much appreciated and Shri B Prakash Pai proposed vote thanks on behalf of Seva Bharathi.

A talk on Ayurvedic Lifestyle

Anantha Soukhya, a unit of Seva Bharathi working for the welfare of Senior Citizens organized a talk on the subject “Ayurvedic lifestyle” on 11.04.2025 at the conference hall of Chetana School, V.T Road, Mangalure. Dr. Jnaneshwar Nayak Mangaluru of Pantanjali Yoga Peetha Haridwar, delivered the talk. He, in his talk, enlightened the audience on the issues crop up due to Vatha, Pitta and Kapha and ways to come out of it. During the interaction, he answered questions on indigestion, sleeplessness, age related problems, ENT issues etc. In the beginning he inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp accompanied by Shri Nagaraj Bhat, Secretary, Sevabharathi, Shri Umesh Shenoy Convener, Anantha Soukhya and Shri B Prakash Pai, Volunteer. Shri Prakash Pai introduced the doctor, Nagaraj Bhat welcomed the speaker & the participants and Shri Umesh Shenoy proposed vote of thanks. A total of 52 members were enriched by the talk.

Mass Birthday at Seva Bharathi Units

As usual, “Mass Birthday” of divyang children was celebrated at our two units, on the last academic working day of respective units.

On 9.4.2025, at Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre at Montepadavu, Capt. B Chowta, Hon. member of Parliament, Mangalore, Shri Raghunandan Bhat, Progressive Agriculturist & Shri Jagadish Alva, Social Worker witnessed the function. The birthday was celebrated in a traditional way by birthday cake cutting, distributing sweets and school bag as gift to each child. Capt. B Chowta in his address expressed that the event was memorable for him. Hon. M P also inaugurating “Seva Chetana Tree Park” appreciated the special design and also purpose of the park. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat Secretary of Seva Bharathi and Centre coordinator Smt. Vanishree & special teachers of the Centre were present during the occasion. Involving the spl. Children, a playlet depicting the sacrifice of Jawans for nation was staged. The medical team of Homeopathic doctors of Yenopoya hospital was arranged for medical checkup of the children with parents, distributed needy medicines.

On 10.4.2025, at Chetana Child Development Centre Mangalore, a retired bank Officer Smt. Nalini V Pai was the chief guest. The trustees of Seva Bharathi Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Shri T Gajanana Pai and Smt. Supreeta school HM were present. Smt. Nalini Pai appreciated the unique way of celebrating the birthday by applying tilak on forehead of the children, Aarathi by all mothers present in the function, then distribution of sweets and umbrella as gift to each child. A Magic Show by Shri Lolaksha was arranged to entertain the children.

Anantha Soukhya, a unit of Seva Bharati® Mangaluru for serving the Senior citizens, in association with Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte, PAGE & Spoorti Charitable Trust Mangaluru organized a free General medical check-up and Assessment camp for senior citizens on 15th March 2025 at Chetana school V.T. Road, Mangaluru. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Prabha Adhikari, Head of the Department of Geriatrics, Yenepoya Medical College in presence of Dr. C. V. Raghuveer, Former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya University, Shri T Gajanana Pai, Trustee, Seva Bharati and Shri Umesh Shenoy co-ordinator, Anantha Soukhya. Dr. Adhikari in her inaugural address highlighted the importance of undergoing regular health screenings and the link between diabetes and age-related other ailments. A total of 58 senior citizens benefited from the camp which included tests such as blood pressure, diabetes, memory, mobility, balance and fall risk.
