Chetana Child Development Centre in association with Department of Human Consciousness & Yogic Sciences, Mangalore University, Mangala Gangothri celebrated ‘9th International Yoga Day’ on 21.6.2023 at it’s conference hall. Smt. Padmarekha K Bhat and Kumari Kavana P of Mangalore University with Smt. Laxmi R Kamath, yoga teacher of Chetana School co-ordinated yoga practices. Smt. Suprita, Head Mistress of the school, teaching and non teaching staff with school children attended the yoga day program.

Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy, one among the founder and immediate past President of Seva Bharathi ® Mangalore was felicitated by the Board of Trustees of Seva Bharathi on 19.6.2023 at Chetana School premises. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Honorary Secretary of the Seva Bharathi welcomed the gathering by briefing the circumstances led to establish Seva Bharathi in 1991 to serve the up-liftment of divyang people by late Vasudev Raghunandan Shenoy & Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy also with likeminded home makers and doctors, which is now widely accepted by the Society. Shri T Gajanana Pai, Trustee put light on life time achievements of Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy. Smt. Suprita Head Mistress on behalf of Chetana School, Shri B Prakasha Pai on behalf volunteers of Seva Bharathi, Smt. Champa on behalf of teaching & non-teaching staff of Seva Bharathi, Kum. Prakriti on behalf of children of Chetana School recalled the good qualities of Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy terming ‘trends in divyang service’. All the trustees of Seva Bharathi joined in felicitation and in reply to felicitation, Smt. Shenoy quoted that She has done very little to the Society where as gained much more’. Shri Mukund Kamath, the interim President of Seva Bharathi assured the outgoing president that Seva Bharathi will walk on foot prints set by her ‘models’. Shri Ashwathama Rao, Trustee proposed vote of thanks. The Trustees, Teaching and non-teaching staff, the children with parents of Chetana School, volunteers were attended in good number in the program. The day being birth anniversary of Late Vasudev R Shenoy, lunch was served by Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy to the children & staff of all the units of Seva Bharathi.

Conduct of Homeopathic Medical Checkup Camp

‘Anantha Soukhya’ in association with Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Naringana, Mangaluru conducted a medical checkup camp for Senior Citizens on 11.06.2023 at Chetana School premises. Dr. Vijayendra Itagi, Professor and Vice Principal, Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital with his medical team conducted the camp by providing medicines free of cost for all the 38 participants. In the beginning, Dr. Vijayendra Itagi with his team of doctors along with Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary & Shri Vinod Shenoy Treasurer of Seva Bharathi ® and Shri Umesh Shenoy, Convenor, Anantha Soukhya inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. Dr. Itagi in his address explaining the rule of Homeopathic medicines in maintaining general health, declared that the camp will continue on 1st Sunday every month at Chetana School premises for one hour from 9.30 am to 10.30 am.

Conduct of ‘Awareness Program’ on ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ of those Legal guardians of Divyang declared under National Trust Act.

An ‘Awareness Program’ on ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ of Legal guardians of Divyang declared under National Trust Act was jointly organized by Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Department of Women and Child Development, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru, District Administration, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru, Chetana Child Development Centre, (a Unit of Seva Bharathi® Mangalore) V T Road, Mangaluru and Local Level Committee Mangaluru on 5.6.2023 at 3.00 pm at Chetana School premises.

In the beginning, Shri H Nagaraj Bhat Hon. Secretary introducing Seva Bharathi activities welcomed all the invitees. The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

The resource person, Shri Prithviraj Rai, President, Mangalore Bar Association enlightened on various aspects covered under ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ of Legal guardians. He also replied to the questions/doubts raised by the legal guardians participated.

Shri Gopalakrishna, District Disability Welfare Officer, Shri Sudhakar Joshi, Senior Advocate and Shri Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer, Seva Bharathi® Mangalore were present on the dais. Shri Ganaraj Y, volunteer briefed on the salient features of Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme specially designed and highly useful for identified Divyang category. Shri Ganesh Pai volunteer proposed the Vote of Thanks.

This is the first program after formation of Local Level Committee at Mangaluru for educating the legal guardians, was a grand success with 67 participants including Legal guardians, parents of Divyang, volunteers and teachers of Chetana School.
