Conduct of workshop on Autism

As part of Autism Day celebrations, Seva Bharathi (R.) Mangalore organized a workshop on “Autism Uncovered: Causes, Symptoms and Solutions” on 6th April 2026 at the Auditorium of Chethana school. The program was inaugurated by watering a plant by Dr. Rajesh, MBBS, MD, Ph.D., the Assistant Professor (Psychiatry), Yenepoya Medical College. Addressing the gatherings he stated that autism is not a disease, it is a developmental disability, for which now a days effective treatments are available. He continued that every autistic person has different symptoms and it is necessary to understand them to encourage their families.

Sri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. secretary of Seva Bharati welcomed the guests. Kumari Anjana Joy, Professor & Consultant of Psychiatric and Mrs. Shwetha Ashok Shetty, Coordinator, Yenepoya Medical College, Mrs. Ravikala R Shetty, Head of the Unit, Navachetana Communication Development Centre were present on the dias. Ms. Varsha compered the program and Ms. Ranjitha Rakesh proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr. Rajesh and his team conducted the workshop in 3 sessions, in which 52 special teachers from 13 special schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm.

Kannada Sahitya Parishath on 28.3.2026 at it’s Annual meet at Sparsha Kalamandira, Bantwal (3) Shri Nagabrahma Taruna Vrinda (R.) Kodical, Mangaluru during it’s 38th Annual day held on 4.4.2026 at Kodical. Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer of Seva Bharathi received the honor in all the above occasions.

Mass Birthday Celebration at Chetana School

Mass Birthday celebration of the children of Chethana School was held on 30th March 2026 at Chethana School. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secy. welcomed the gatherings. Shri Srinivas Pranesh, Director (Retd), BASF, Katipalla, Mangaluru  who attended the program appreciated the way of traditional style of celebrating the birthday by involving the teachers and parents of the children. Shri B Prakash Pai, Senior Volunteer spoke on the importance of celebrating Mass Birthday.  Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer of Seva Bharathi, Shri Santosh Pai, HR Officer, BASF, Smt. Suprita, HM of the school were present during the occasion.  The teachers alongwith guests, parents, well-wishers collectively enjoyed the birthday where tilak and aarti applied to the children also by serving sweets & gifts to them.  Singing and dancing were presented by the teachers and children.  Smt. Rekha, compered the program and Smt. Champa proposed the vote of thanks.

Chethana School celebrated Annual Day

Chetana Child Development Centre, a unit of Seva Bharathi ® Mangalore Celebrated its Annual Day celebrations on 19 December 2025 at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall Mangaluru. Sri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary of Seva Bharathi ® gave a brief introduction on service activities for divyang carried out by Seva Bharathi. Smt. Jayashri welcomed the gathering. Head mistress Suprita presented a report on annual activities of the school in the year 2025-26. Shri A Rajamani, Asst. General Manager, Union Bank of India the chief Guest distributed the prizes to the winner children in various competitions. The school children entertained the audience through dances, a playlet ‘Raita mattu Bhumi Tayi’ and a dance drama on Great freedom fighter ‘Rani Abbakka’ Ullala being the year 2025 is 500th year of her rule. The presentation on Abbakka’s life struggle and sacrifice to the country has been an eye opener to the present generation audience.  Smt. Sumana Ghate, Member, Seva Bharathi Advisory Committee, Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer, CA Giridhar Kamath, Auditor and Prithvipala, CEO of Seva Bharathi, children with parents gathered in a big number.

Rakshabhandan Celebrated

The Chetana Child Development Center, V.T.Road Mangaluru, a unit of Seva Bharathi® Mangalore, celebrated Rakshabandhan at school premises on 8th August 2025. In a simple but heartwarming function, the Headmistress and teachers put tilak on the foreheads of all the children, lit Arathi and tied Rakhies fostering the spirit of mutual brotherhood and also sweets were distributed.
